Chairperson Message

On February 20 we held our 105th Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting! Our Keynote speaker, Ben Hobbs did an amazing job informing us of opportunity zones in downtown Alliance. He has been a great resource in bringing the chamber and local government together to discuss ways to revitalize the downtown area.

Congratulations to Barb Armitage for receiving the Athena Woman of the Year Award and to Alliance High School senior, Katie Goodwin, for receiving the Athena Scholarship!

Thanks to Jeff First, Gloria Magrath, and Dan Skivolocke for the many years they dedicated to the Chamber Board of Directors.  All three have retired from the board. Congratulations to Brian Amos on becoming 1st Vice Chairman, congratulations to Adam Christian on becoming 2nd Vice Chairman, and thanks to our Treasurer, Greg Blasiman for all you do for the Chamber. Also, thanks to Dustin Burgess, Rick Baxter, and Mark Locke for their commitment to the Executive Committee. And, of course, thank you to the entire Board of Directors for volunteering your time for the betterment of the community.

It was an honor to accept the gavel from outgoing chairman, Rick Baxter. Rick is an inspiration to all of us and the entire community. Thanks, Rick, for your commitment to the Alliance area and for your continued leadership as President of the Alliance Area Development.

I hope you continue taking advantage of the many opportunities the Chamber has to offer. Please, feel free to email me at lisa@oaksfoundation.com if there is ever anything I can do for you.

We will be witnessing some amazing things happening in our city this year! Please be engaged and involved.  Your businesses are important to the value of our community. I hope to see you at the March Business After Hours event.

Warm regards

Lisa Gentile

Chairperson Message

Dear Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce Members:

You have arrived at the right place if your goal is to work with a spectacular demographic of people and meet new business and social contacts in a friendly environment. Our members consist of local businesses in Alliance, Sebring, Louisville, Beloit, Hartville, Minerva, and other surrounding areas.

Please give a warm welcome to Lisa Trummer with Tanner Real Estate and Brittany Acuff with the Alliance YMCA for becoming our newest Chamber Board members.

The Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce offers much more than simply exchanging business cards. The professional relationships established through our organization are proud examples of honest referral, consistency and trust that often result in lifelong business relationships. Stop by our next Chamber Business After Hours event and find out for yourself!  Please join us on February 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Regina Coeli Parish and School for light refreshments and beverages.  Also, please remember to RSVP to attend our Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 20, and enjoy our guest speaker, local native, Ben Hobbs, Special Assistant to the President of the United States Domestic Policy Council.

Today, despite the age of less generous budgets facing businesses, our Chamber has kept its promise to be your strategic community partner and continues to provide its members with tools for success and means to connect with others.  We hope you enjoy and take full advantage of your many member benefits, marketing platforms, discounts, and have the opportunity to take pleasure in the spirit of our community events.

In closing, on Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to take that special someone to any of our Chamber Member restaurants for a cozy and romantic dinner or shopping for that perfect gift!  Please stay warm and safe as we push our way through the balance of winter!

Regards,

Lisa Gentile, 2020 Chairperson

Chairperson Message

Dear Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce Members,

I am truly honored to be serving as the 2020 Chairperson of the Board of Directors’.  I am hopeful to make great contributions this year, keeping with the history of the outstanding leadership throughout the Chamber’s existence.  I will strive to emulate the integrity, vision, and leadership that has been demonstrated by our recent past Chair, Rick Baxter, and the many others before him.

We have a tremendously talented, experienced and engaged Board of Directors, along with Mark Locke, our President and our new Chamber Administrative Assistant, Taralyn Pete.  We all share the vision and desire to improve this great community where we work, live, and raise our families.   Our Chamber is here for you.  We hope you find value in your membership and we encourage you to take advantage of the many networking opportunities taking place this year!  Please consider attending our Business After Hours events, the Annual Meeting, new business ribbon-cutting events, the Jim Fish Memorial Golf Outing, special educational workshops, and the Business Awards Luncheon.   We are always open to new ideas and welcome your feedback.

I encourage companies and business leaders to engage with us to experience the value that the Chamber has to offer you and your business. You can make the most of your membership by volunteering, serving on a committee, or connecting with the Chamber staff.  The Chamber is here to educate, communicate, and advocate on behalf of the interests of businesses.  As partners, we will accomplish great success and thrive to strengthen our community!

I look forward to meeting you and working with you and your business to continue growing the greater Alliance area!
